Monday, August 3, 2009 Motoring Classic begins in Kirkland, Washington (just east of Seattle)

The Pebble Beach Motoring Classic is the ultimate road trip for enthusiasts with
automobiles that have more than a dash of elegance. The Motoring Classic begins
near Seattle, Washington, and covers approximately 1,500 miles as it winds down
through the mountains and along the coast of the Pacific Northwest on its way
to the ultimate auto destination — the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The Motoring Classic tour package includes all meals and accommodations and
entertainment en route, as well as select events normally reserved for Concours
entrants and judges during the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend.
To participate in the Motoring Classic, a car must be a past or present Pebble
Beach Concours entrant or it must have an elegance befitting the Concours. A
maximum of 30 cars are accepted each year.

WHERE: The Ballroom of The Embassy Suites, located on US 1, just north of 68 [to
Laguna Seca & Salinas], easy access and free parking.
WHAT: ORIGINAL VINTAGE posters, photographs, rallye plates, badges & pins, mascots & hood ornaments, signs, original art, desk & display pieces, scale models, literature & books, signed items, poster stamps, post cards, mosaics, unique
scarves/ties/shirts, and the like.
WHY: The largest automobilia show in America, and the only time during
Concours/Race Week to find these 45+/- top international dealers in a single
venue!
ADMISSION: Only $15 for one day or $20 for both and there is a silent auction

the races and related events during what has become known as "Monterey Week."
Fans will see many rare and exotic cars racing on track and included in
informative displays. This year's annual celebration of a specific manufacture

With Gooding & Company at the helm, the Pebble Beach Auction has set numerous world records,
including the highest price paid for a prewar American car at auction (the 1935
Duesenberg SJ Speedster known as the Mormon Meteor sold for $4,455,000), a
Ferrari road car (a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 alloy NART Spyder sold for
$3,960,000), and a Bugatti Grand Prix car (a 1927 Bugatti Type 35C Grand Prix
sold for $2,585,000).
